saabz8 on Thursday, April 07, 2011 @waqarchishtify: Ravindra Jain composed Akhiyon ke Jahrokhon se in 1976-77. Nusrat was only 28 yrs old and had no recordings until the early 80's. He was unknown in India before that and wasn't even that well known anywhere. The Qawali is clearly a later recording. Its not even similar to that song after the first line which sounds somewhat similar. Besides, there are only so many raags and bandishes in classical music. There could be similarities somewhere. Both of them are original musicians.
saabz8 on Thursday, April 07, 2011 @iSleepDoc: Nobody did. Ravindra Jain composed Akhiyon ke Jahrokhon se in 1976-77. Nusrat was only 28 yrs old and had no recordings until the early 80's. He was unknown in India before that and wasn't even that well known anywhere. The Qawali is clearly a later recording and not very similar just the first line. Both are originals. Please refrain from amateurish speculation. Just listen to his songs in chitchor, ram teri ganga maili, fakira. Its amazing that a blind man has that depth in music.

herespankaj on Saturday, April 09, 2011 Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se Maine Dekha Jo Saanware
Tum Door Nazar Aaye Badi Door Nazar Aaye
Band Karke Jharokhon Ko Zara Baithee Jo Sochne
Man Mein Tumhi Muskaye Man Mein Tumhi Muskaye
Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se
Ek Man Tha Mere Paas Woh Ab Khone Laga Hai
Paakar Tujhe Hai Mujhe Kuchh Hone Laga Hai
Ek Tere Bharose Pe Sab Baithee Hoon Bhool Ke
Yoon Hi Umar Guzar Jaye Tere Saath Guzar Jaye
Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se...

waqarchishtify on Monday, April 18, 2011 @saabz8 ... Thanks for your logical reply, especially the last line is the crux. I had no doubt in mind about the greatness of both the musicians how ever just out of curiosity I was wondering whether there was some inspiration from some body to another. I am trying to contact Rahat G which might give a better insight to the issue that I definitly would share with all of you music lovers. peace
