vjzoo on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 Thanks SO much for identifying who these wonderful dancers are!
vjzoo on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 How does remixing them stop them being 'saved for the next generation?' Surely it keeps awareness up and introduces more people to the treasures that can then be looked up also in their original form.
ikylejm on Friday, September 05, 2008 these songs are saved because of the influence they have left on the music of today
Jannat4 on Friday, October 31, 2008 wow, so Beautiful. they dance superb. if I am not wrong many steps are coppied in Devdas song (Dola re Dola).

srjnnaidu on Thursday, January 29, 2009 One in the left is M.S. Subhulakhsmi, the Bharat Ratna Winner of India, a South Indian Bharat Natyam Dancer and Classical Singer with her sister in the right. They have performed one more song in Bollywood in Chori Chori of Raj Kapoor. Song is "Man Bhavan Ke Sang".
srjnnaidu on Thursday, January 29, 2009 One in the left is M.S. Subhulakhsmi, the Bharat Ratna Winner of India, a South Indian Bharat Natyam Dancer and Classical Singer with her sister in the right.
anusrinivasan on Saturday, February 07, 2009 No, this is NOT M.S Subbulakshmi, the famous Carnatic Singer who was awarded the Bharat Ratna. MSS (the singer) was not an established dancer and, after a brief movie career in the 1940s, concentrated on Carnatic singing.
The dancers in this song are indeed called the Subbulakshmi sisters and had nothing to do with MS the singer! Please do not confuse the two!
seemam9 on Thursday, February 12, 2009 ooof what flexibility man!!! 2.07 to 2.12 is absolutely genius stuff

neelima25 on Saturday, March 21, 2009 how sweet and naddan back then those girls and their expressions were...no nudity just pure beauty...
vinayfound on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 Outstanding ! Such energy and grace in both, the music and the dance. This movie had lovely music by chitalkar. Incidentally, this is a South Indian production - by Pakshiraja Studio of Coimbatore. Thank God ARRahman had not been born till then, to spoil the movie with his convoluted and intellectually deficient cacophonies punctuated with sudden howls.
San1One on Sunday, April 05, 2009 This is extraordinary to say the least! I am in awe of how amazing that dance was! Absolutely brilliant!
uttung80 on Monday, April 13, 2009 I learnt about this song and dance from my parents who loved it very much. I also watch it quite often. I really would like to know more about them. I understand that they were called something like "Velankani sister?" Any idea?

kiranadarsha on Thursday, May 07, 2009 Does any one Know a Tamil song, which goes " Kaalam ithu Kaalam ithu ne tungu magale", an old song, anything regarding it would be helpful or Kannada song "Kaala vidu kaala vidu ne malagu magale", where I can find it.
reva12 on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 Here is information on the Tamil song that you asked about:
Song Title: Kaalam Idhu Kaalam Idhu, Kannurangu Magaley
Film: Chiththi
Singer: P. Susheela
Music: Viswanathan-Ramamurthy
Lyrics: Kannadasan
By the way, the dancers in this clip are Sai & Subbulakshmi, sisters. They have done quite a few bharata natyam numbers in Tamil movies, back in the late 50s and early 60s.
