Kishoreda was priceless for them.jst look at the voice quality of KK how smooth and energetic voice he had perfect match for an actor.rafis voice sounds same in every song.beggar style doesnt last long.

the name Shankar-Jaikishan with rafi. Maybe KK was more important to salil
or RD but rafi was pride of bollywood almost every other music director
such as Shankar Jaikishan madan mohan kalayanji andanji and op nayar used
rafi more often than kishore. In your opinion rafis voice might sound the
same but his expressions were surely better than kishore. so IN MY OPINION
rafi was a more versitile singer than kishore

to say what you said about Rafi Saab is a total joke !!!! What drugs were
you taking when you wrote this? Kishore is no doubt a great singer but in
no class near to Rafi !!!! Even Kishore da himself admitted he is in no
league to Rafi at the time of Rafi Saab's passing. He had a poster of Rafi
in his house! Kishore would sing Rafi's songs on stage! Rafi's range could
never be outclassed by anyone which is a known fact !

Yes KIshore took top spot in the early 70's due to RD Burman & Rajesh
Khanna's backing but Rafi was still there!! From mid 70's until 1980 Rafi
was back on the top spot (very well known fact !!) Sorry to say your
knowledge in this area is very poor indeed !!! I would urge you to do some
un-baised research !!. It was widely known Rafi was the most versatile male
singer ever with his immense vocal range & modulation !!

Both singers were roughly of the same era. How come then we don't recall Kishore's songs for so many leading actors of 50s and 60s, that's 20 long years...except for a few songs for Dev Anand and Shashi. It's the other way round for Rafi: it would be quite a challenge for anyone to find actors that Rafi did NOT sing for...any comparison here makes sense?
TheQualitymatters on Friday, October 14, 2011 Did I miss songs Kishore sang for Dilip Kumar, Guru Dutt, Bharat Bhusan, Pradeep Kumar, Johny Walker, Rajendra, Joy Mukherjee or Shammi Kapoor etc...:) Its difficult to even imagine. Even for other actors like Jitendera and Dharmendra, Kishore was not able to sing for them before the 70s. The same cannot be said of Rafi though even when Kishore reached his peak. Rafi continued to sing for every leading actor of 70s. We can all make subjective comments about voice quality but cannot deny facts.
