dgrtube on Saturday, February 09, 2008
What a wonderful composition. Unforgetable

milindpandit29 on Sunday, February 24, 2008
Definitely one of Ashaji's very best. Anybody has the original movie video of this song ?

kianwar on Monday, February 25, 2008
This was the last song of Asha for O.P.Nayyar. What a nice swan song !

ramesh007sharma on Sunday, March 09, 2008
Asha Bhosale recieved Filmfare in 1968 for this song, but never came on stage to recieve it. Reason: She broke away from OP Nayar. She was very very upset wit OP Nayar for something. This was the last song she sang for him!!!

What a great song though!! The combination of Asha with OP Nayar was great and immortal!

awesome.lovely song and soulful lyrics !!

amrutvani on Thursday, March 20, 2008
Unfortunately this touching song was removed from the movie and hence no
video of this is available.

Nayan Yagnik on Tuesday, April 08, 2008
The song was never picturised, so there is no question of removing it from
the film. The producer & the director felt that the song is too slow for an
action film & it will hamper the pace of the movie.

Neha Rajpal Songs on Friday, April 11, 2008
Do hear the version sung by Nehha Rajpal. its on Youtube. Its awesome.
Ashaji would be proud of Nehha

anuj127in on Thursday, May 01, 2008
Ashaji really poured her soul into this song. Its sounds so pure with so
much feelings. What a coincidence that the song was recorded exactly when
OP Sahab and Ashaji were parting ways and therefore happened to be the last
beautiful song they created together. Although its a sad song, but I am
glad that it's unforgettable. "Ab Ke Baras Bhej Bhaiyya ko Babul" from
Bandini under SD Burman is another one where Ashaji actually cried before
recording the song-just a tidbit that I read somewhere.

I am a tamilian and I do not understand Hindi. But this song under the
baton of OPN is so emotional that I feel like crying. Asha is a great
singer no doubt but in this particular song the credit goes to OPN.What a
great composer. He never compromised with anyone and was independent. That
is why he never joined the Bombay MusiC Directors' Association and never
acknowledged Lata as a good singer for his own reasons ! Yet OPN was great
! A memorable composer. When he died I cried for him !

Aadit Kapadia on Saturday, September 20, 2008
but still asha won the filmfare award for the best singer and sadly this
was the last song that had the awesome o.p and asha combination..

ambindia on Monday, September 29, 2008
the lyrics were written by shamsul huda bihari, popularly known as s.h.
bihari. he made a specail dedication of the song to asha ji.

Although I can't understand the language , it's a beautiful song, melody and voice.
Thank you.

I am also a tamilian but can challenge anyone in Hindi- spoken, verbal &
written! Learn the national language to enjoy India to its fullest!!

Soul-stirring rendition by the versatile Ashaji.

roughly translated: never did you let me live in peace. when i wished to
drink poison you didn't even let me do that.

stormvixen on Sunday, November 30, 2008
How lovely :.)..

I guess you wanted to say Geeta Dutt since Geeta Bali was an actor

Yeh aawaz swarg se aa rahi hai

Tn Arunagiri on Monday, March 30, 2009
A truly unplugged song - what a melody!? Wah wah! Piano, flute, a triangle,
rhythm guitars and with Goddess herself lending her Godly voice. OP Nayyar
really understood Asha's vocal range and tapped her versatility. Amazing
pair in Indian film music history!

XxKuzu89xX on Sunday, April 12, 2009
i don't understand what she says
but it sounds very nice!!! :)

Jayanthi Nadig on Friday, April 17, 2009

hi harish, i managed to get the DVD of the movie and solely bought it to
extract this song, but the song was just not there. I had to really live
through a torture as the film is a typical 70s pot broiler, but could not
even find a relevant point where this song could have been adjusted

salil dixit on Friday, June 05, 2009
thanks for sugession. kalpna songs are very nice, particular tu hai mera
prem devta.

sunshine82007,

I liked your translation,
tell me, finally, was she left alone, or she
took poison atlast !!

sunshine82007,

I liked your rough translation, tell me,
finally, was she left alone or managed to
drink poison ? haha ha

Indeed Asha's masterpiece. One of OPNayyar's most emotive compositions
really made for Asha. Thanks Jyotika.

dubbooman on Tuesday, October 20, 2009
one pf the last songs she sang for O.P. Nayyar. The two were made for each
other , so these words seem so real

ashok48393 on Sunday, November 29, 2009
This song was never picturized because the producer did not like the song;
he thought it did not suit the theme of his movie. It is available only in
audio format.
