Possumfaced on Saturday, September 22, 2012 A very fascinating film. Wonderful character sketches. A small time dancer in a travelling company and a bullock cart driver. The equations they share between them are interesting, a break from social conventions. I think this is one of those films where Rehman pitches in a flawless performance. She IS Hirabai in the film and Hirabai could easily be Rehman.
surinder50 on Saturday, September 22, 2012 You know possum I was 16 when it was released...I liked it even then...it was so different from the usual run of the mill films but..ordinary Indians did not like it...the film made a great financial loss...and the producer died after a difficult life...the producer was...Shailendra the Lyricist.
Possumfaced on Sunday, September 23, 2012 Wow! I didn't know this. Thank you for sharing this coz it adds a whole new perspective to my viewing of this film. The very rhythm of this film is so different from the rest of the films that came out about the same time. The premise of a traveling company and how it changes the lives of people who come in contact with it, through the story of this one dancer and one villager, is extremely enticing. The only other which, sort of comes close, in terms of premise, is the marathi film, Natarang.
manismis on Monday, October 01, 2012 bro.don't bother, if alive, we would be listening this song in 2052..

manismis on Monday, October 01, 2012 so we have 22 atheists, who disagree with creation myth.
fin,e if you disagree with CREATION, but take evolution as the truth, but why should the song be not heard on the merit of it's message, rather than a scientific bumkum.
have respect for good men, religious or atheists.
manismis on Monday, October 01, 2012 in effect, the song says when god was creating love, he had image of his failed love in his eyes, and even he shed one or two tears over his failed love.
kind of blasphemous, yet profound...and, nobody killed anybody over the song.
i feel our previous generations were more tolerant than us.

Niranjan Basnyat on Friday, April 03, 2015 He, Shailendra, was a great poet. He wrote songs with simple language but
very deep in meaning. Truly philosophical !!!!
Maruti Rao V on Saturday, April 25, 2015 First, let me correct the views here. This immortal poetry was composed by
the great Hasrat Jaipuri Sab and not Shailendra ji. This film was produced
by Kaviraj Shailendra ji and he requested his long time associate Hasrat
sab to compose some songs, and he wrote this heart wrenching composition.
And what rendering by Mukesh ji and emoting by Raj Kapoor and Waheeda ji.
Simply astounding. An evergreen immortal creation by the greats
Shankar-Jaikishan

sung by Legend Mukesh especially for me. I used to see this song on YouTube
often and enjoy the beauty of Vahida Rehman who is my one of favorite
actress.

P.K. ANILKUMAR ( HINDI MELODY BYTES ) on Thursday, November 19, 2015
