jpandyaraja on Friday, August 08, 2008 urdu is a chodu language ..
installerswan on Friday, August 08, 2008 It's pretty crazy to see people fighting these silly Hindi vs Urdu debates. Hindi and Urdu are perhaps the best example of language synthesis. A Indo-European language that gradually evolved from the Sanskrit related colloquial Apabhramshas gradually mingles with Farsi (as the courtly language under the Mughals) and Arabic through the spread of Islam.
continued ...
installerswan on Friday, August 08, 2008 This synthesis led to the growth of one of the very few languages in the world to have two scripts - The Nastaliq, and Deveanagari. It is no surprise that these two languages are nearly completely mutually intelligible. They are one language.
sackingsrock on Sunday, August 10, 2008 this song is the hallmark of indian cinema
boyforbidden on Sunday, August 10, 2008 i luv this song...its so cool..
installerswan on Sunday, August 10, 2008 poissondelamer: It's interesting that you don't reply when I write in Urdu, is it possible that you can't even read Urdu? The beauty of Urdu (as with all other languages) lies in the fact that it is great by itself. It doesn't need people like you, and doesn't care about your silly hateful prattle.

aniltiwari on Wednesday, September 03, 2008 its simple..it means dat.."according 2 me,u hav been made 4 me..before dis u were wid d stars bt u hav been called 2 land for me".d basic meaning is dat ur body, soul is for me.I HOPE u get it now maa1970..enjoy..
bala747 on Thursday, September 04, 2008 Agreed, urdu took the best of both worlds, the complexities of Sanskrit grammar mixed with the exotic vocabulary of persian. This song owes more to urdu than "traditional" hindi (khariboli) for words like "khayal", "sharm", "bahen (arms)", the line "uthegi meri taraf pyaar ki nazar younhi" and even the word "Kabhi".
maa1970 on Thursday, September 04, 2008 Thanks a lot but kindly, what is the exact meaning of the word Kabhi ?
rizzypizzy on Thursday, September 04, 2008 It means "some time". However, here it means "sometimes"...
maa1970 on Saturday, September 06, 2008 Is it really Amitab voice ?
maa1970 on Sunday, September 07, 2008 " Urdu is more poetic than Hindi, the most famous poetry over hundreds of years in India has been in Urdu, that's also why most songs are in Urdu than Hindi. Urdu uses the Arabic script, but is a mix of also Persian/Farsi, Hindi and Arabic. " this is enough to increase my motivation to learn sincerely this famous language...thanks AceMatrix101 for these details.
arabiyya on Friday, September 12, 2008 this song breaks my heart... although i only know translation :(

kingofheartsxyz on Thursday, September 18, 2008 makes my cry when i miss my love who is gone from my forever
st17 on Friday, September 19, 2008 Urdu sounds more poetic becuase during the Mughal period (middle ages) in India, Persian and Urdu were the languages used in courts and therefore to this day have an air of royalty to it. English had a similar fate in India, as in order to get jobs under the British, you needed to know English. It quickly became a "superior" language.
maa1970 on Friday, September 19, 2008 Thanks for this information.
Anyway, I felt in love for the Urdu language and songs...

CrunchyNut7 on Thursday, September 25, 2008 Sometimes the thought enters my heart
just as the shehnaii sounds on the roads..(wedding musical instrument).
that it is our wedding night, and I am lifting your veil...
You are shrinking from shyness, blushing in my arms...
Sometimes the thought enters my heart
that you will love me like this our whole lives through,
that you will always lift a loving gaze towards me,
I know you are a stranger, but even so,
sometimes the thought enters my heart
CrunchyNut7 on Thursday, September 25, 2008 Sometimes the thought enters my heart
that you have been made just for me.
Before this, you were dwelling somewhere in the stars;
you were summoned to earth just for me...
Sometimes the thought enters my heart
that this body and these eyes have been kept in trust for me...
that the dark shadows of your hair are for me alone,
that these lips and these arms are treasure in my care...

chunmukhnan on Saturday, October 11, 2008 CrunchyNut& ji,
Yes, it is Urdu written by one and only Sahir Ludhianvi. Urdu is a version of Hindi if you will, its grammer is Hindi but heavily influence with Farsi and Arabic words, 80% of its vacabulary. Sahir was basically a poet of nazam and not ghazal. You may click link below to hear Sahir recite his original nazam (poem. Kabhi Kabhie The original Poem
