Nayan Yagnik on Wednesday, July 30, 2008
Enjoyable. One of the superhit compositions of OP Nayyar. Biswajeet looks
cute!

vidyakarelia on Monday, August 04, 2008
Babita also did justice to the song :)

Why are they cross-dressed ?

Trisha Rudra on Tuesday, August 26, 2008
They r cross dressed coz, in the film, babita is on the run from some evil
men who are after her, and during her journey she crosses paths with our
hero, biswajeet, who inadvertently ends up on the run with her while trying
to help her. And thus, they end up in the backstage of a show while trying
to find a hiding place, and to hide from the goons, they dress up in
whatever costumes they find...babita ending up in the man's costume and
vice versa.. :) so thats y they r cross-dressed... :)

vidyakarelia on Wednesday, August 27, 2008
thank you,MystqStar, for the detailed explanation :)

vidyakarelia on Sunday, September 07, 2008
its my pleasure.Biswajeet's perfomance is really mind-blowing.Har koi aisa
nahi kar sakta!

vidyakarelia on Wednesday, September 10, 2008
so does Bisvajeet, hai na? ;)

gurkhaboy on Monday, September 15, 2008
O.P.Nayyar was amazing. He was boycotted by the music industry and it was
Shamshad Begum who had the guts to save his career and sing his songs. Its
ana amazing story if you read up on it.

vidyakarelia on Monday, September 15, 2008
really! dint even know about it.What was the reason for boycotting
O.P.Nayyar?

gurkhaboy on Monday, September 15, 2008
During the 1950's OP Nayyar threatened the popularity of many of the well
established composers of his time. They pushed to have him boycotted and
forced out of the industry. All India radio also stopped playing his songs
under pressure from these influential chaps in the industry. Even many
playback singers refused to sing his songs to join in the boycott (one of
them being lata mangeshkar). It was Shamshad Begum who came forth and told
OP that she would sing his songs and make him famous again

gurkhaboy on Monday, September 15, 2008
Now since All India radio did not play his songs, they were broadcasted
through Ceylon radio (Sri Lanka) and Asha Bhonsle was also asked to sing
his songs. Thus he came back and became even more popular than before. So
OP Nayyar always had a special place for Shamshad Begum.

vidyakarelia on Monday, September 15, 2008
thanx for the narration.I ve read that O.P.Nayaar was not trained in music,
but left his home (Lahore) to pursue a career as a composer. My all time
fav of his songs is "YEH DUNIYA USIKI ZAMANA USIKA" by
Mohd.Rafi-ji("Kashmir ki kali")

Aadit Kapadia on Sunday, September 28, 2008
superb thanks for posting.. the remix version doesnt do justice to the
original which is awesome..

Aadit Kapadia on Sunday, September 28, 2008
i guess because of his success as well as his fees .. he charges abt
Rs1-1.5 lakh per movie in the 50's..which was high as singers like
lata and rafi used to be paid abt 300-400 per song... but after listening
to his songs i can say he delivered what he promised.

kathambari srinivasan on Tuesday, October 07, 2008
nice song.if this is babita.karisma kapoor resembles her very
much.

vidyakarelia on Thursday, October 16, 2008

necrounreal on Saturday, November 08, 2008

!

jaseecar on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
lol back then they didn't have the resources to keep up with the western
pop culture

kchopra4080 on Sunday, December 14, 2008
Yes kumble123 you are right. OP was very expensive to hire in those days
but was a near certainty in popularity of his compositions India wide. At
the time, he was the only one who would come to studios in his Cheverlet!
But you could hardly complain. Kanwal

lol very funny...fim's funny too.

sabbirsa on Sunday, June 07, 2009
Karishma Kapoor has a lot of similar features from her mother Bobita Kapoor. Kareena has gotten her mothers lips and eyes. Kumar Vishwajeet (man dressed in woman) is also equally good in this movie.

yes, yes here it is, what a delicious and sweet music played on Harmonium
and Tabla only, the ancient music instruments used only and make the son so
sweet . Do remember rhe song of Barsat ki raat , mujhe milgaya bahana teri
deed ka, only on the Dholak, hye, how the musicians get it done and make it
beautiful for listning for ever, surprised and is quite admirable.

crescendoclub on Saturday, November 28, 2009

hotmith coolappa on Saturday, January 09, 2010
there is dholak more than table in this song. most OP composition used
these two prominently.

Shruti Richhariya on Saturday, January 23, 2010
hay re mai is gaane pe kurbaan

mub1972 on Thursday, January 28, 2010
Voice of Shamshad Begum and Asha Bhosle are in perfect contrast. At that time Shamshad's voice was representative of the old singing style and Asha as a fresh voice

itsirking on Sunday, January 31, 2010
