R Nanjappa on Monday, June 03, 2013 This song and 'Yeh hasrat thi ki is duniya' from Naushervan-e-adil are two
of the superlative songs sung by Rafi saab. They have sublime lyrics and
are tuned with wonderful feeling. Thanks Rumahaleji, you have uploaded
both! It is so wonderful, I am so grateful.
Vinay Hegde on Thursday, June 20, 2013 I think this song was rated as one of the best songs of all time in Hindi
cinema by some experts. You sometimes get the feeling that Mohammad Rafi
used to sing effortlessly, but then that is the hallmark of genius - to
appear to do things effortlessly which in reality are very difficult. Which
other playback singer could have done justice to this song? With hardly any
background music, the entire onus is on the singer to carry this song.
rumahale on Monday, July 08, 2013 "... hallmark of genius". I agree with you. Thank you for liking and
critical appreciation.
rumahale on Monday, July 08, 2013 Well said of the two great songs; glad that you liked. Thank you for
excellent comments.

Nima Mazdak on Friday, February 28, 2014 Lyrics
Man re tu káhe ná dhir dhare
Man re tū káhe ná dhīr dhare
Wo nirmohī moh ná jáne
Jinká moh kare
Man re ...
Is jīvan kī čhařtī ďhaltī
Dhūp ko kisne bándhá
Rang pe kisne pahre ďále
Rūp ko kisne bándhá
Káhe ye jatan kare
Man re ...
Utná hī upkár samajh koī
Jitná sáth nibhá de
Janam maran ká mail hai sapná
Ye sapná bisrá de
Koī ná sang mare
Man re ...

Shruti Shankar Srivastava on Monday, January 12, 2015 mann re tu kahe na dhir dhare
My heart, why dont you take courage/have patience
oo nirmohi moh na jane, jinka moh kare
The one you desire is devoid of emotion, knows not what attachment/love is.
mann re tu kahe na dhir dhare
is jivan ki chadhti dhalti, dhup ko kisne bandha
The rising and receding sunlight of this life, who could hold/controle?
rang pe kisne pehre dale, rup ko kisne bandha
Who has imprisoned color, who has shackled beauty?
kahe yeh jatan kare
Why bother to make this effort/why attempt to try ?
mann re tu kahe na dhir dhare
utna hi upkar samajh koyi, jitna sath nibha de
Recognise their favor so long as they stay true to you
janam maran ka mel hai sapna, yeh sapna bisra de
Togetherness through life and death, its a dream, forget this dream.
koyi na sang mare
no one accompanies you in death
mann re tu kahe na dhir dhare
o nirmohi moh na jane, jinka moh kare
ho mann re tu kahe na dhir dhare
Oh Dear Heart, Why do you despair?
For whom you yearn so much, does not understand love or know desire!
No One has Control of Joys and Sorrows of Life.
No One has Control of Beauty and Youth in one's Life.
The Time that is spent together is worthy of anything
Being in Life and in Death is just a dream, a dream that is an illusion.
In the end you die alone,
