randika100100 on Friday, April 27, 2007 Very beautiful Song.ThanX for uploading.Keep up good work my friend.
NeeliAankhen on Friday, May 18, 2007 This is Helen at about 19. I think she is so fresh, young, and lovely
here!! She went on to dance in at least 500 movies, and eventually to
become the stepmother of Salman Khan. This movie (Howrah Bridge) is a
lovely one, too, a Bollywood Film Noir with wonderful songs picturised on
Madhubala.
smodass on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 Please do not forget to give credit to Mr. O. P. Nayyar for his incredible
music.
smodass on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 Bollywood, specially the older Bollywood, does not get enough credit. The
music and dances specially are amazing and will stand up to any in the
whole world.
mareen1987 on Tuesday, July 03, 2007 awesome!! i love this song!!
Marianvalkyrien on Saturday, July 07, 2007 You know what would have been great?if Helen danced with Elvis!
pyarkiyatohdarnakya on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 One of the best item numbers ever!
dilij on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 One can see dance director Surya kumar himself, dancing in this song, with
Helen.
khadipai on Friday, July 27, 2007 The singer is the Late Geeta Dutt
Al J on Friday, July 27, 2007 Really? I thought it was Asha Bhosle.
Afghanen on Thursday, August 02, 2007 Thats GEETA DUTT ..not helen or anyone else!
Marianvalkyrien on Thursday, August 02, 2007 sounds like Asha to me.she was on CATCat mane Billi and the voice sounds
simolilar.
Desikan Nambakkam on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 I would like to hear and see another song "Eent ki tukki paan ka ikka kahi
joker kahi satta hai sunoji ye calcutta hai..chowranghi ke chowk mein dekho
matwale bongali rasgulle se meeti baathen inki shaan nirali, kahin
mukherjee kahi banerjee, kahin bose kahin dutta hai, sunoji ye calcutta hai
..." from the same movie HOWRAH BRIDGE. Will somebody please locte the same
and upload for the benifit of fans of old melodies?
Afghanen on Friday, August 31, 2007 Geeta was cool,,to bad she drank herself to death..
joeyjojojimmyshabado on Friday, October 05, 2007 That's Helen, but it's sung by Geeta. o_O
joeyjojojimmyshabado on Friday, October 05, 2007 Helen is the actress, Geeta was the singer.
joeyjojojimmyshabado on Saturday, October 06, 2007 kay, if you go to the imdb movie database website, you can see the list of actresses in the film, and Helen is clearly in it. Also, if you look up Helen's biography, this song was a big break for her. The song was SUNG by Geeta Dutt, but please remember the Bollywood tradition of having a singer simply sing the song, but an actress lip synch it. So, in anycase, it's not Geeta Dutt shown in the film.
joeyjojojimmyshabado on Saturday, October 06, 2007 Also, Geeta Dutt, the Bengali singer, did NOT look like that, whereas Helen, the Anglo/Burmese Bollywood actress, does. Don't say it's not Helen without doing some research.
joeyjojojimmyshabado on Saturday, October 06, 2007 Just to provide some clarity, I'll just add this, I know it's easy to get confused with the Bollywood stuff, but rarely, if ever, is the actor or actress the same person who is truly singing. This is why there are singing credits, and acting credits. Usually in India, especially in the Bollywood musical film industry, songs are composed by one person, they hire a singer to sing the song, and the actress hired to be in the film will lip synch to the song during the film.
joeyjojojimmyshabado on Saturday, October 06, 2007 Most actresses and actors in Bollywood do not have singing ability, so singers are hired seperately to do the soundtracks.
DaGizza on Friday, November 02, 2007 Sometimes, the actor and singer are the same, like when Kishore Kumar acted
in movies. However, here Helen is acting and Geeta Dutt is singing.
muskan1222 on Sunday, December 02, 2007 Hindi Lyrics:
Mera naam chin-chin-chu
Chin-chin-chu baaba chin-chin-chu
Raat chaandni main aur tu
Hello, mister, how do you do?
muskan1222 on Sunday, December 02, 2007 Baabuji main chin se aayi chini jaisa dil laayi
Singaapur ka yauvan mera shanghaai ki angdaayi
Dil par rakh le haath zara, ho jaaye na paagal tu
Mera naam chin-chin-chu
Oh baabuji main aur aap, kitna achchha huwa milaap
Tujhko dekh tabeeyat bhadki, alaadin ki main hu ladki
Phunk du mantar chhu chu chu, sindbaad the sailor tu
Mera naam chin-chin-chu
nik g on Saturday, December 15, 2007 amazing..all time classic dance number
feastfortheeyes on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 That sounds indecent...to say that about the way she died...even if it were true? And sorry to say but...in the end so do you:)
feastfortheeyes on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 Thanks for posting the lyrics:) they make sense!:)
Afghanen on Friday, December 21, 2007 No, its the other way. HELEN is singing, GEETA is acting..Check imdb..
DaGizza on Saturday, December 22, 2007 IMDB must be wrong here. If you are a keen fan of Hindi films (especially
old ones) like me, you would know that Helen only acts and Geet Dutt is a
playback singer. Check Wikipedia, any books on old Indian movies or most
other websites. I have also seen this actress in other films and she is
called Helen, not Geeta Dutt.
bipudesh on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 Maybe in Hum saath saath hain (Karisma & saif)
Afghanen on Friday, January 18, 2008 your right!! my mistake..sorry..
Kellieannef on Saturday, January 26, 2008 I LOVED this!!! How can I get a copy of this movie?
Q on Saturday, February 09, 2008 Let me clarify.. Singer: Geeta Dutt(formerly known as Geeta Roy) Dancer:
Helen(oiginally from Burma) Lead Actors in this movie: Ashok
Kumar,Madhubala Music director: O.P. Nayyar Completely sure about this info
as I am an avid fad of Hindi movies, born n brought up in Bombay, have been
hearing this song ever since I was a kid!
NeeliAankhen on Sunday, March 23, 2008 It's from the 50s. The movie is worth seeing for lovely performances,
though this song is definitely the reason I bought the dvd. This is Helen's
only appearance in the movie I think. As to where you can get this movie -
Netflix has it for rent, and you can probably buy it from Nehaflix, a
reliable source for Hindi dvds in the US (and they are not pirate editions,
which is something I care about - I care about not buying pirate Indian
movies!).
readlifo on Monday, April 07, 2008 Helen. This was her very first stint in Hindi cinema. She was only 14 at
the time. :-)
stiffler3586 on Friday, April 11, 2008 She is Helen, icon of the item dance number in Bollywood cinema.
Helen has appeared in over 500 (some estimates come closer to 700) movies in a career that spans 40 years and she has danced in in nearly every single one of those movies, sometimes more than once.
stiffler3586 on Friday, April 11, 2008 And she was not of Indian origin.
Marianvalkyrien on Saturday, May 03, 2008 I think she was 19.
readlifo on Monday, May 05, 2008 I watched a documentary about Helend and she says that she was 14. Maybe it
was a gimmick to make her look younger or something.. I don't know.

song is the best classic song ever from 50's!!
54spiritedwill54 on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 One can see dance director Surya kumar himself, dancing in this song, with
