God has promised us all that if we do good deeds we will be rewarded in heaven with 'hoors' being our companions. If those hoors are not as half as beautiful as Madhubala, it will be a con from God's part. I cant wait to die to meet someone like her in heaven. moviestuff22 on Tuesday, January 01, 2008 I am sorry to disagree with those who like today's actresses better, but to me Madhubala was not only an enduring and un-surpassable beauty, she projected purity and innocence along with that magical quality called ada through her expression, and if you look closely at the video, she had superb acting talent, too. It is as if she wasn't acting ,but was in fact Dilip Kumar's treasured beloved( which very likely she was). . What a gift from heaven her short-lived life was to India!

Her beauty of course remains unmatched to this day, like that of a treasured orchid in a sheltered garden, but see her natural talent for acting, especially when she responds to DK's compliment with a spontaneous giggle. Millions of young men lost their hearts to Madhu at that very moment!

How could a young girl like her be able to have such responses? Was it natural or did she learn how to or was she guided by the producers? Madhubala was someone I would have given my right arm to protect. She looked so innocent. Maybe that's why her father did not want to let go of her.

Look at what tender motherly imagery Meena Kumari conveys in Do Bigha Zameen when she( Lata in real voice) sings a lori .

While watching it, my first feelings were one of sadness. She was there with a lot of promises, innocence, unaware of what to follow and how short her life was going to be. She left us with a lot of pleasing memories, but she, herself, could not get what she wanted in life. Very sad.
