such a beautifu song.It is a Spirtual song, about God for all the people
who do not understand this language.

R Harish on Monday, July 30, 2012
It's just her rendition. Your point is valid if she was claiming at the end
of the song that her version is supposed to be an accurate reproduction of
the original. Anyway, check out "Ashai Mugam" ft. Vidya Vandana - Shankar
Tucker, where she brings up the same point under the video description.

Your voice is nice Vidya and Vandana.

sranjit7 on Monday, October 15, 2012
Not entirely correct. Grantha letters included as part of some tamil
scripts give the sound "sha" and are legitimate in those scripts. The word
aasai itself has its roots in the sanskrit word asha. In any case, Bharathi
who wrote the song himself was a brahmin. So it is only fair that it is
being sung in a brahmin tamil accent.

swamisivom on Wednesday, October 24, 2012
Thank you .keep up the good work

PresyNaras on Thursday, November 15, 2012
I'll give u a proper explanation. Most classical trainers are brahmins and
those folks do use tamil with sanskrit infuence and pronounciations.
Naturally any one training under them will also carry that accent. It's not
technically ruining tamil. It's just a variant of tamil. It's still
beautiful though...

PresyNaras on Thursday, November 15, 2012
Please do read the history of languages. Tamil is the mother of all south
indian languages. Telugu was the first separate language to originate from
ancient tamil, then kannada and finally malayalam, therefore more words are
similar between tamil and malayalam than tamil and telugu...

ermalai on Friday, November 16, 2012
unacceptable justification...the singers could have corrected the so called
brahmin gurus.this is lame excuse.sounds like how OZs criticize if
Indians sledge...

Sreejith G on Sunday, November 25, 2012
. I hope you understand the 3rd S I mentioned. Their pronounciation is
perfect about the word “solven”. The 3rd S is almost lost from Tamil.
Writing has many limitations especially English, I treally wanted to talk
and explain. Well let me use tamil letters and explain:

Jeo Joy on Sunday, November 25, 2012

All blokes, stop arguing about spelling and enjoy this beautiful song!

Mukkodan on Friday, January 18, 2013
Mixing offshoots Languages like Kannada,Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi into Tamil
is okay and also considered as an unique accent. But retaining the ancient
Tamil with its Grand-dad Sanskrit is a Crime? Grow up guys.

daarkmatter on Monday, January 28, 2013
Though what you said is true, you have to have some sympathy for telugu and
kannada people who due to the natural geography of the region, bore the
maximum assault on their language and culture from the sanskrit speaking
north over millenia as Mr.Sreedhar Reddy has unwittingly demonstrated. If
it wasnt for them, the "Tamil" of today wouldnt even have existed even in
its present rather "impure" form for us enjoy its uniqueness and classical
importance of being the mother of Dravidian languages.

daarkmatter on Monday, January 28, 2013
Sanskrit is an Indo-Iranian language and Tamil is a Dravidian language
(mother). They both have NOTHING IN COMMON. Influx of words in either
direction doesnt mean that they have a RELATION and even that only happened
due to migrating populations from the North to the South.

mystic23LanaD on Monday, January 28, 2013
idk what the argument is about? it's all Tamil to me.

cherie on Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Kubangpasu on Wednesday, February 27, 2013
Hi, this song is so soothing. I am not sure whether they're singing
religious hymn because they said something about Mahalaxmi which I
recognize as a religious figure. Can anyone tell me what is this song about
maybe briefly? Such a nice beautiful Tamil Brahminical culture. I adore it
so much, thanks.

radha krishna on Sunday, March 10, 2013

No one is finding fault here. But there are certain things that you have to
take into consideration. No one is going to criticize when people talk in
dialects in their own lives. But what would you think the reaction would if
someone sand thaaye yashoda or mahaganapathim in a thirunelveli or
coimbatore slang? or even worse, chennai slang:P. Its a bharatiyar song. I
feel checking pronunciations is important .He loved the language. He also
fought the caste system.Keep that in mind.

Karthik T on Monday, March 25, 2013
This song is much better sang by these than Munbe vaa (sung by these two
and not the original song)...

ch0c0latem00n on Tuesday, April 02, 2013
Can somebody give English translation for this song please, seems like it
has beautiful lyrics, my Tamil is not very good, thanks

Mangosteencountry on Sunday, April 14, 2013
well said. in this globalised world, it is inevitable that language and its
enunciation changes. India has too many languages and they are spoken in
myriad ways. let's celebrate that diversity.

Mohan Packiriswamy on Tuesday, April 30, 2013
" the two soft flowers have a honey-voice and it is very appreciable they
sung in Tamil "
