Agree, one of my favourites :)
BTW Could someone recommend me some other songs or artists from India or generally from the Middle East I should listen to? I'm from Poland and have no recognition in the who's who in the music industry from the Middle East and what to search for when it comes to finding some fine piece of music... I'll be very grateful :)

This song is flawless. One of the best songs sung by Udit Narayan saab. You have to listen very closely to realize the beauty of this song. OK movie, but songs are out of this world.

munadilse on Friday, August 22, 2008

nubsmacker on Sunday, August 24, 2008

ramanu01 on Friday, August 29, 2008
You have already understood that the song is beautiful, then why worry about the lyrics?

munadilse on Friday, August 29, 2008
so true the song is beautiful to listen to even if i do not understand it,, but it would leave a lasting memory in the heart when the words are known, and the pattern of their use.

Amongst Udit Narayan's best tracks

satyajeet2004p on Tuesday, September 02, 2008
this song is about two lovers who are far away from each other and want to call on each other but cannot, due to some reason, the song depicts their frustrations at not being able to connect with each other. beautiful lyrics and heartachingily lovely. you will understand when you are far away from your lover and cannot connect with him/her.

addycool12 on Tuesday, September 02, 2008
i would like to add that the two of them dont know eachother. And shahrukh is trying find her by playing thos song on radio.the song title is "Ae Ajnabi" which means "Oh Stranger"...

jssshashi on Friday, September 05, 2008
Wandering bird...

Hey stranger, you're calling out from somewhere too.
I'm living here in pieces --
somewhere you're living in pieces, too.

Each day, as it comes and goes, the silken wind says, "Tell me!"
The silken wind says, "Tell me!"
The one who is like a pale, innocent flowerbud --
that girl, where, where is she?
Where is her light?
The one who is my very life - where is she?
I am incomplete, and you're only half-alive.

jssshashi on Friday, September 05, 2008
Distant bird...
You're not here, but your smile is.
Your face is nowhere to be found, but the sound of your footsteps are.
Where are you, where?
Where is there a sign of you,
where is my world?
I'm incomplete, and you're only half-alive.

caty786 on Sunday, September 14, 2008
very good song my favorite song

santosh6000 on Monday, September 29, 2008
E Ajnabi is a great soulful melody. However in the movie Dil Se the song was playing in background only. I am sure if this was shown as a Main Theme song of Dil Se using the direction of Sir Mani Ratnam and brilliant cinematography of Santosh Sivan, Dil Se the Movie would have become a memorable Hit Movie.

India's not in the Middle East, it's in South Asia. If you're interested in Indian music specifically, go to bollywhat[dot]com. It's intended for non-Indians who are getting into Indian films, since the music industry is a part of the film industry, that's the best place to start. Or just find videos on here. Some of my fave film songs are from- Salaam-e-Ishq, Aaja Nachle, Dil Se, Jodhaa Akbar, Jab We Met, Kisna, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Lagaan, K3G, Saawariya, Om Shanti Om, Devdas, Asoka, etc.

polarbearexists on Wednesday, October 01, 2008
Thank You for the reply :)
Yeah, I know that India is not exactly the Middle East; I just put my comment here, 'cause I like the Dil Se soundtrack.

ajnabi kabhi aawaz nahi dete...apne hee log awaaz dete hain. yeh toh gana hain...reality kuch aur hain.
