I must give full credit to the cinematographers, directors and other support artists who work hard to picturize such a beautiful song in a foreign locale. Of course, actors, musicians and singers are an icing on the cake, but we often forget that we like a particular song because the way it looks on film.
This is a unique feature of our hindi movies.

I've seen the film Love In Tokyo but it was in a South Indian
language. Was this original remade in other languages?

aceji on Tuesday, March 30, 2010
India absorbs ALL cultures. This film of 1960s had a story with backdrop as JAPAN. Music directors SHANKER-JAIKISHEN composed this as per story line. Singer is melody QUEEN LATA MANGESHKER and acted on by ASHA PAREKH with JOY Mukherjee.

rosita62 on Wednesday, April 07, 2010
Yeah I have to agree, remember back in the 60s in Malaysia, one of the hits. Even until now my mum still loves it.

uR2us on Sunday, April 18, 2010
I love this song. Can someone please translate what she's saying. Thanks in advance.

PeterSanCb on Wednesday, April 21, 2010
Thank you for sharing, very nice movie, from the eyes of Japanese.
Long time not listen this song, I guess it is originally Japanese song, but arranged in Chinese instrumental. I wish I know where this movie had taken, but now I think we can't find this scene.
She is so lovely, but to be faithful for Kimono traditional custom, she should have wear long length-sleeves kimono which shows the lady is unmarried. And she should not run as this, lol.

uR2us on Sunday, April 25, 2010
I like this song. Can anyone translate what she's saying?

shivaram2111 on Thursday, May 20, 2010
in the first stanza
she is singing:

sayonara sayonara
i will keep my promise sayonara.. *waada nibhaaongi sayonara"
dancing and cheerfully i will come again tomorrow sayonara
Please leave my arms, *chod de mei bahon ko
don\t stop my ways, *rok na meri rahon ko
why are you so eager? *itni bhi bettabi kya"
please make your eyes understand,
i will keep my promise sayonara,
i will come again tomorrow sayonara

shivaram2111 on Thursday, May 20, 2010

i won't be able to forget you,
we will meet in flower gardens.

honeyluvx on Saturday, June 19, 2010
This was my lullaby lol.

alabatross on Tuesday, June 29, 2010
@hirofan This move Love in Tokyo was made in Hindi. May be it was voice dubbed into a south Indian language which you saw. Those days sub-titles were not much in vogue. Indian movies let abroad were big hits. The other big hit was An Evening in Paris (Shammi Kapoor and Sharmila tagore).

hirofan on Tuesday, June 29, 2010
@alabatross
The film that I saw was not this film.
These were not the actors.. music was different,
etc. It's very difficult to find English information
on South Indian movies.

alsas007 on Sunday, July 11, 2010
@seema221 i totally agree with u.unlike the current bollywood movies dat constantly mock other culture.gora this kaala this and african this.in a new akshay kumar movie called housefull they made fun of black ppl n africans.is so disgusting.we can be funny without offensively mocking others.

freiherrudet on Friday, July 16, 2010
@mrjanu100 You're all over the place, and missed each time. So go throw acid on another girl's face, just because she turned down your curry ass.

dharma099 on Sunday, July 18, 2010

freiherrudet on Monday, July 19, 2010
@dharma099 You know my ancestry- how? Go pray to an eight-armed purple elaphant, or better yet, go drink some of that wonderful Ganges water. I'm busy killing cows.

deens4344 on Thursday, July 29, 2010

srinivassiddarth on Saturday, July 31, 2010
