Such a nice song by both Geetas! Geeta Dutt sings nicely for cute Geeta Bali!

ashish das on Sunday, January 16, 2011
@yourdeadin yes he did and won it. That is what hero is for.

Sangeetha Menon on Friday, February 04, 2011
It's funny that hindi movies had the internal pressure of copying Hollywood
aka "the West" (in fashions, musical instruments (esp. piano), and even
mannerisms) way back even in the 50's! Shameful.

Sangeetha Menon on Friday, February 04, 2011
It's funny that hindi movies had the internal pressure of copying Hollywood
aka "the West" (in fashions, musical instruments (esp. piano), musical
patterns (notice the instrumental patterns in this song and compare to pop
American music in those days), and even mannerisms) way back even in the
50's! Shameful.

Coucoutchicou on Wednesday, February 23, 2011
There has never been anyone to equal either of the Geetas featured here:
Bali or Dutt. They were both unique!

Very sweet song ..like it :)

Mark1Mach2 on Sunday, September 25, 2011
@menonsangeetha true, copying has been as evergreen as dev sahab himself
is. If the lyrics were to be in English, no doubt it will pass as an
English/American song (barring the video). But you cannot discredit all the
original material that Hindi cinema has!

toobin on Monday, September 26, 2011
@menonsangeetha It's not shameful. That's how movies always came to be. You
copy, transform, and combine. That's the key in cinema!

ashish das on Wednesday, December 07, 2011
Western woke to the idea of play back singing when Nicole Kidman danced to
the tune of Chamma Chamma, years after it has been done in Indian cinema.
Western music is very different where the voice of the singer is more of a
scream almost subdued in the drum and beats. Geeta Dutt has done this
singing in her unique style. If the lady here is wearing here a western
dress it is because her role is such. And if some Western actor is walking
and talking like Dev Sahab- Kya Baat Hai-Kya baat hai.

Love Geeta Bali!

klou frst on Sunday, February 12, 2012
Love Geeta bali here!!! The way she rolls her eyes when she says "Daav laga
le", cute, cute, super cute!!! Nobody can bring life to Geeta dutt's peppy
song like she does!

Tadbeer: prudence, shrewdness, acumen, stratagem.
Taqdeer: fate, destiny, luck.
Daao: trick, throw the dice, move.
Insaaf: justice, fair play, fairness.
Ilzaam: charge, accusation, allegation.
Khaak: dust, something worthless.
Patwaar: helm, rudder.

orientlover1 on Thursday, April 05, 2012
Reshape your destiny with prudence;
If you have faith in yourself, try the trick;
Why are you scared of stares of people;
You are in the right, take up the challenge;
Shame on a life that's only for one's own self;
You perish and save someone else from perishing;
If helm of your boat is broken, grieve not;
Make your weary arms serve as a helm.
( A beautiful, simple worded lyric by Sahir Ludhianvi)

Thank you.wish I had the same kind of understanding of the Urdu...

ToxicfairyA on Tuesday, May 08, 2012
dev anand nd dilip kumar were the most charming guys in those days

akshhara on Thursday, June 07, 2012
The female actor in the video is Geeta Bali and not Geeta Dutt who is the
singer of this song. Geeta Bali was married to Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Dutt
to Guru Dutt :)

akshhara on Thursday, June 07, 2012
While i respect your opinion, i also would like to point out that Dev Anand
always imitated Gregory Peck. It was no secret. And what is the harm in
acknowledging the impact Hollywood cinema has on Indian cinema. From plots
to music to characterization. It is good to be proud but only after
acknowledging the merits in others.

ashish das on Sunday, June 10, 2012
You are certainly entitled to have your own opinion. But did Dev copy
Gregory Peck? How can a 5 feet something frail figure walk and talk like a
6 feet plus big man. Dev always wore fully buttoned full sleeve shirts to
hide his biceps. He delivered his dialogues in his own rapid style and kept
shaking his head. I saw Gregory in Mackenas Gold and spellbound. I am sorry
could not see any similarity.

Zooni Raina on Sunday, January 27, 2013
Whats so shameful about it. This is how cinema came into being. Come out of
your shallowness sister.
