Lyrics of Hue Ham Jin Ke Liye Barbaad - हुए हम जिनके लिए बरबाद
asir-e-panja-e-ahad-e-shabab kar ke mujhe
kaha gaya mera bachpan kharab kar ke mujhe
huye ham jinake liye barbad
vo hamko chahe kare na yad
jivanbhar, jivanbhar unaki yad me
ham gaaye jayenge, ham gaaye jayenge
afsana hum to pyar ka doharye jayenge hum gaaye jayenge
mai hu aisa dipak jisme
mai hu aisa dipak jisme na bati na tel, na bati na tel
bachpan bita bani mohabbat char dino ka khel, char dino ka khel
bachpan bita bani mohabbat char dino ka khel, char dino ka khel
rahe ye dil ka nagar abad
basi hai jisme kisi ki yaad hum dil ko
hum dil ko unki yaad se behalye jayenge, hum gaaye jayenge
huye ham jinake liye barbad
vo hamako chahe kare na yad
jivanbhar, jivanbhar unaki yad me
ham gaaye jayenge, gaaye jayenge
Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Hue Ham Jin Ke Liye Barbaad
Captured by youth's insistent hand,
My childhood marred, they understand.
For whom we fell, a burning pyre,
Though they forget, fueled by desire.
Forevermore, through life's long span,
Their memory, our echoing plan,
We'll sing their song, a whispered plea,
Forevermore, eternally.
A time there was, they wouldn't stray,
A fleeting moment, come what may.
A time there was, they wouldn't stray,
A fleeting moment, come what may.
A time now comes, we're forced to part,
A cruel decree upon the heart.
A time now comes, we're forced to part,
A cruel decree upon the heart.
Though grief they shun, and turn away,
From tales of sorrow we portray,
The story of our love's embrace,
We'll sing their song, in time and space.
I am a lamp, devoid of light,
No wick, no oil to feed the night.
My childhood lost, love's fleeting game,
A four-day play, a whispered name.
My childhood lost, love's fleeting game,
A four-day play, a whispered name.
May heart's domain, forever stay,
Where shadows of their presence play,
And we our hearts, with memory's art,
We'll sing their song, within the heart.
For whom we fell, a burning pyre,
Though they forget, fueled by desire.
Forevermore, through life's long span,
Their memory, our echoing plan,
We'll sing their song, a whispered plea,
Forevermore, eternally.

About songs, this song was an inspiration to many such songs sung varous blind heroes of souithern india e.g. Rajkumar in Kannada Movie 'Kantheredu Nodu (Open the eyes and see) whcih was a great success in 1960-61. A great song by immortal Rafi Saheb and unforgettable composition by Naushad Saheb.

May Allah bless Rafi sahib soul and Bhagwaan be pleased with his singing, amin!!
Thanks a lot, ''nooranijamil'' for giving us the pleasure to hear such a fine song.
AlHaj Said on Saturday, July 07, 2012 When he was the best in Bollywood,no one of today'scould come out from
their dwellings to sing as they could not have class in singing .When Rafi
Saab was no more hundreds came out as if their dwellings were dwellings of
rats, knowing the Big lion is gone.Shame to those todays fake singers.
