deep388 on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 Gosh we are discussing ethnic groups here?!?! Anyone going to actually appreciate how beautiful this melody of the yesteryears is...I can't stop listening to this song, just love it!! Jaya Prada and Rishi Kapoor are looking very very young here...
Face10a on Thursday, April 22, 2010 I do not know :) have others also problem, that this song is too short :) I have to listen it every time at least 5 times... Fantastic melody and rhytm... ;) And I`m estonian... Totally addict... :)))
scir91 on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 @mars3400 some songs every year still keep the old style showing a lot of scenery, love story song, superb color (if watched in HD or in cinema), and well all about the artistry of film.
spacekangaroo on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 @mars3400: I agree with you. Most modern Hindi songs are now simply made in a style that imitates Western music. Traditional music in India is being replaced by Western pop music.
sshakababy on Thursday, November 18, 2010 Lovely beautiful song. Sadly, the remix video has given a whole new vulgar meaning to the term 'dafli baja''
kadarkhanchacha on Sunday, November 29, 2009 Incredible song by the Queen and the King of Bollywood.
This is Bollywood at its very best.
naumanjanjua12 on Thursday, February 04, 2010 Rishi Kapoor is as always phenomenal. Defininetly one of the best actors ever to grace the Indian Screen

In the old days, and to a lesser extent, in the present, there is more socio-economic prestige in being a non-Indian. This has something to do with India's self-image or our intrigue of foreigners from the North and West.
The Kapoors were ethnically Punjabi from a mercantile caste called Khatris. Khatris moved to many parts of Central Asia, such as Peshawar, Kabul, and even to Azerbaijan where they built a Temple. The Kapoors may have spoke Pashto, but were still Punjabi.

Of course hindi songs are changing. but it is obvious and its not an imitation of western music rather its a mixture of indian and western music. Unlike Holly, many hindi songs still have a perfect mix of various music threads like Sufi, Western, Indian traditional, Shastriy Sangeet and Persian or arabic.
the old format of typical indian songs is still in practice in regional movies. Go for Telugu, Tamil, Marathi etc. regional movies and u wil get it.:-))
