Asha Parekh with her signature style of folk dance was a sensation in the
60's. But aside from this Asha was a qualified classical dancer trained in
Kathak and was one of the few stars in Hindi cinema those days trained in
classical dance apart from the Bharatnatyam trained Padmini, Vyjayanthimala
and Waheeda Rehman who hailed from South India. Very few of them from the
North were trained. Rajshree was the other actress who was trained in
Kathak as well.
