Lyrics of Woh Subah Kabhi To Aayegi - वो सुबह कभी तो आयेगी
vo subah kabhi to aayegi, vo subah kabhi to aayegi
in kaali sadiyo ke sar se, jab raat kaa aachal dhalakegaa
jab ambar jhum ke naachegi, jab dharati nagame gaaegi
vo subah kabhi to aayegi
jis subah ki khaatir jug-jug se,
ham sab mar-mar ke jite hai
jis subah ki amr^it ki dhun me, ham zahar ke pyaale pite hai
in bhukhi pyaasi ruho par, ek din to karam faramaayegi
vo subah kabhi to aayegi
maanaa ke abhi tere mere in aramaano ki, kimat kuchh nahi
mitti kaa bhi hai kuchh mol magar,
inasaano ki kimat kuchh bhi nahi
inasaano ki izzat jab jhuthe sikko me naa toli jaayegi
vo subah kabhi to aayegi
daulat ke liye ab aurat ki, ismat ko naa bechaa jaayegaa
chaahat ko naa kuchalaa jaayegaa, gairat ko naa bechaa jaayegaa
apani kaali karatuto par, jab ye duniyaa sharamaayegi
vo subah kabhi to aayegi
bitege kabhi to din aakhir, ye bhukh aur bekaari ke
tutege kabhi to but aakhir, daulat ki ijaaredaari ki
ab ek anokhi duniyaa ki, buniyaad uthaai jaayegi
vo subah kabhi to aayegi
majabur budhaapaa jab suni, raaho me dhul na phekegaa
maasum ladakapan jab gadi, galiyo me bhikh naa maangegaa
hak maangane vaalo ko, jis din suli na dikhaai jaayegi
vo subah kabhi to aayegi

nandu1f on Wednesday, February 03, 2010 @tanhaa1: You quoted a good line indeed to make your point, I concede. But
here is another from same movie.."Jitni bhi buildinge' thi, setho ne' baant
li hein", an example of Sahir extreme lyrics. Although poetic license &
hyperbole are accepted literary devices, "profound" sounding socialist
falshoods become political tools. I favor Sahir's pining-heart love songs.
One of his gem is from Light House, N.Datta composition.."Tang Aa chuke'
hain.. sung by Asha.
Voltairec on Monday, November 21, 2011 Insaanoke keemat jab jhoote sikkey mein tholi najayegi..entire
philosophy in one sentence..hats off to Sahir. I heard from my eldest
brother that there was a ban initially on this movie specifically for the
searing lyrics.Sahir raised his voice even when everyone was kowtowing
to Nehru by his fearless poetry, in effect a scathing commentary on social
inequity, plunder and materialism! It's unfortunate that things have become
much worse now.
nandu1f on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 Touching poetry. Immortal composition. I remember how I was swayed by the
lofty sentiments listening to this song as a teenager. Looking back, the
socialistic messages from the movie and poetry castigating the well-off for
all the ills of the society feel so hollow. Being so utopian may be good
escapism, but it is just delusional Urdu poetry. Sahir and Dostoevsky
mislead one from own responsibility.
aceji on Friday, July 03, 2009 MEANING: That morning will dawn upoun us someday when clouds of pain will
vanish and ocean of happiness will overflow. We consume poison today in the
hope of finding nectar someday. The sky will dance of happiness and the
earth will sing melody. We die daily for centuries in the hope of a happy
dawn. Once a luck will shine on us hungry, thirsty souls. THAT MORNING WILL
COME ONE DAY.
V. Siddhartha on Thursday, December 04, 2008 Very well put, Ivan. John Keats said, If winter comes, can spring be far
behind? Sahir was our Keats, except that the hope amid despair was always
more slender and fragile in Sahir's poetry. The true state of our world is
better rendered in Sahir's poetry. So his words always move us ,and the
effect is doubled when two heavenly voices sing them, as here.
