it is not that I dont know of the doyens of patiala gharana like Amanat Ali khan Saheb or the greats like chaggan miyan or the great Salamat and Nazakat ali khan sahebs of shyam chourasi gharana or Abida Parveen who is from the same lineage as that of salamat ali khan sahib! so dont talk nonsense!

in mumbai,u vll b killed on a blink of a second if u talk nething 4 asha bhosle in public..& if u really want 2 knw who asha bhosle is,u shud chk her profile on wikipedia or in google,that vll help u 2 shut ur stinky mouth..i cn reply u by say same about ur country's farida khanum for settling d score,bt that doesnt suit me & in fact it will b wrong on my part coz i like them 2..jst 4 ur in4mation..asha bhosle has her name in guiness book of records for singing max nomber of songs in world. .

you are right i think also that she has spoiled the whole touch and the originality of the song
Farida Khanum did best but this lady has spoiled the beauty and i think why is it necessary to sing it by others
Farida sung this song very beautiful and it touches the heart and soul
I also think that the video totally not suits the song and the western touch of the music has further spoiled the song
Why is she (A. Bhosle) doing this, she must sing her own songs

Asha should have just left this one alone! Disappointing, to say the least. She exposes her limitations. Even though she is recognized for "expression" in her voice, her rendition sounds totally flat compared to the legendary Farida Khanum. Asha is great but she should realize that some classics are even beyond her reach! This is similar to Lata trying Noor Jahan's "hum bhool gayay har baat". That was tragically disappointing as well. Better than this though.

It is good to hear Asha's flawless singing. Both Farida and Asha are great
singers. But the reason Farida's rendition is slightly better is she sings
with traditional tabla, sarangi and harmonium. See, those instruments have
their own tranquilising effect and make music more effective.If Asha
would have sung with same traditional instruments, and still more classical
like Farida, then it would have that extra advantage. Still Asha rendition
is good
