Lyrics of Aan Milo Aan Milo Shyaam Saanvare - आन मिलो आन मिलो श्याम सांवरे आन मिलो बृज में
aan milo aan milo shyaam saavare aan milo
aan milo aan milo shyaam saavare brij me
akeli raadhe khoi-khoi phire
o raadhe khoi-khoi phire o kaanhaa aan milo
aan milo aan milo shyaam saavare aan milo
bridaavan ki galiyo me tum bin
jiyaraa naa laage o jiyaraa naa laage
nis din tumhaari baat nihaare
vyaakul nainaa bhaage vyaakul naina bhaage
ab hi aisi dashaa hai man ki kyaa
hovai phir aage re
brij me akeli raadhe khoi-khoi phire
o raadhe khoi-khoi phire o kaanhaa aan milo
aan milo aan milo shyaam saavare aan milo
ajahu naai bheje re mohan taine koi khabariyaa
o taine koi khabariyaa
ajahu na bheje re mohan taine koi khabariyaa
o taine koi khabariyaa
ho gai brij ki bala ro ro kar bavariya
ro-ro kar baavariyaa dhir badha jaa dhir badh jaa
mukh dikhlaa jaa nat naagar saavariyaa re
brij me akeli raadhe khoi-khoi phire
o raadhe khoi-khoi phire o kaanhaa aan milo
aan milo aan milo shyaam saavare aan milo

RealMusicKing on Monday, March 19, 2012 This is an Assami tune.It used to be sung by a farmer in Assam while a six year old boy used to listen to it with great passion. That kid was SD. As he grew, it remained with him & finally, he inserted Sahir's words in it & had it filmed in Devdas. Phaili Hui Hain was tuned by SD for film House No.44. RD was too little to compose in 1955. whatever RD composed was either stolen from SD,Western tunes or from other Music Directors. He himself was nothing but a draft of hot air.
rumahale on Thursday, September 06, 2012 One of the learned viewers has described it as Assam tune; other learned
viewer has described it Bengali tune and that the song rendered in Baul
tradition. I agree with "chamogaa ". S D Burman drew inspiration from
Bengali folk songs; this has semblance to the song written by the poet
Jasim Uddin - Bandhu Rongila Rongila". In fact, SDBurman did render it.
This song by Manna Dey and Geeta Dutt is beautiful and to my liking. Thank
you for excellent presentation.
V. Siddhartha on Monday, November 02, 2009 The bansuri and the percussion sounds make this minstrel song exude the
fragrance of Bengali soil. On the vocal front, who else but Geeta Dutt and
Manna Dey could have transferred the charm of the baul tradition into this
Hindi song? Great to see it back. Thanks, Suhanee.
BeIndianatHeart on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 Hey I am a bit confused. As far as my knowledge of music is concerned, I consider it to be a Baul. Please can you tell me for sure is it assamese or Baul?
