Absolutely love this ghazal. I remember papa use to listen to this when I
was growing up. I would sneakily go in the living room when he was at
work(mind you we had record players at that time) and would constantly
listen to this. Ahhh, the awesome childhood memories are so priceless.

Bazeecha-e-atfal hai duniya mere aage,
Hota hai shab-o-roz tamasha mere aage.
Hota hai nihan gard mein sehra mere hote
ghista hai zabeen khak pe dariya mere aage
Mat pooch ke kya haal hai mera tere peechhe
Too dekh ke kya rang hai tera mere aage
Bazeecha-e-atfal hai…..
Imaan mujhe roke hai, jo kheenche hai mujhe kufr
Kaba mere peechhe hai kalisa mere aage.

Go hath ko jumbish nahin ankhon men to dum hai,

The moment Ghalib said this ghazal is the most important point in shaping
the meaning and parameters if this piece of poetry . It was the time
when his high class poetry was totally disregarded by maestros of poetry
working for the kind at that point in time (Zauq to be specific)
