He has a rock tinge to his voice. So, it'll naturally sound good on a rock
song or at least any similar piece. Mostly people go by voice, so they like
him. But, if we go by the mechanics of singing, he is hardly an average,
considering he's singing off key right from the beginning. And if it wasn't
for the chorus guys, he'd have butchered the song completely. So, a
performer YES but a vocalist NO..

Farhan may not be perfect singer, but I salute his courage. He dared to
sing such a difficult song on mtv unplugged. What a talent he is, a great
director and actor, a singer with very unique voice. Dil Chahta Hai will be
best youth film of our generation, we connect with this movie more than any
other.

its not always important that you need to be a professional singer to sing
at a show. His pitch and tone might not be upto the mark, but his sheer
passion and his style of rendition could beat any pro hands down. Farhan
Akhtar sounds so much like one amongst us. Happy feeling :)

farhan actor acha he par acha singer nahi he. awaz phate hue dhol jaisi
thi. he is not a trained singer. ab actor famous he to kuch bhi hit ho
jaata he. par ye gaana acha nahi gaya isne.
