msmndind on Saturday, August 18, 2012 u ppl shd understand 1thing b4e posting comment that, Lata's versions
(there are two versions - Sad & Happy) are tailor-made for the film
"Lekin', its lyrics are penned by Gulzar as per the script's demand,
whereas the others mostly follow the lyric and style of the traditional
Rajasthani one (even there are also several versions of the lyric - you
will understand if you listen to the Medhi Hassan, Hariharan and others) -
hence there is no point in comparing between Lata version and others
V. Siddhartha on Friday, August 13, 2010 A much beloved Rajasthani folk song sung beautifully by RS with her own
interpretation of the melody. If the song is a vocal intro to Rajasthani
culture, your picture montage illustrates it by showing varied glimpses of
life in that rugged area, whose starkness is often punctuated by its
distinctive brand of color and splendor. The fabric patterns at the start
and the Hawa Mehal at the end serve as excellent bookends to that theme.
Thanks, Di.
