Lyrics of Lagi Laagi - ओ री सुन बऊरी बऊरी छोरी

o ri sun bauri bauri chhori
jogi ko jiya me na basaiyo
jogi ka hai jagat thikana
jogi se tu chit na lagaiyo
thagva hai, thag lega, matwaala mukhrala

o ri raina tera chhona ,chand hai chit chor
munh dikhaye aadha pauna, tarse man ka chakor
o ri raina tera chhona, chand hai chit chor
munh dikhaye aadha pauna, tarse man ka chakor
taaro ki dasht me ye phirta banjaara
ha kyun mujhe bha gaya hai zulmi aawara
hai laagi laagi laagi laagi
laagi laagi laagi laagi laagi re lagan chit chor
hai laagi laagi laagi laagi
laagi laagi laagi laagi laagi re lagan chit chor

shaam pade dikhe, muaa man bhatak jaye
ninde ude bane dhua, tan mahak jaye
ho dekh kar mera band jharokha, ghar nahi jaye
ha kyu meri suni si gali me, yu hi mandraye
hai laagi laagi laagi laagi
laagi laagi laagi laagi laagi re lagan chit chor
hai laagi laagi laagi laagi
laagi laagi laagi laagi laagi re lagan chit chor

o ri raina tera chhona, chand hai chit chor
munh dikhaye aadha pauna, tarse man ka chakor
taaro ki dasht me ye phirta banjaara
ha kyun mujhe bha gaya hai zulmi aawara
hai laagi laagi laagi laagi
laagi laagi laagi laagi laagi re lagan chit chor
hai laagi laagi laagi laagi
laagi laagi laagi laagi laagi re lagan chit chor

jhumkhe me jada, use mala me pahna
mundiriya jada jada, moti na thahra
han jogi hai, jogi ko manana sikh na paye
han hai suna, har rite man me ye to aaye jaye re
hai laagi laagi laagi laagi
laagi laagi laagi laagi laagi re lagan chit chor
hai laagi laagi laagi laagi
laagi laagi laagi laagi laagi re lagan chit chor

o ri raina tera chhona, chand hai chit chor
munh dikhaye aadha pauna, tarse man ka chakor

Kaushiki Chakraborty-one of the best classical singers in the
country..Pratyush Banerjee-an exponent in Sarod bt still i feel that the
song is very substandard and wannabe..people make any kind of music these
days in the name of fusion music..dats the sad part..The originality of any
form of music is fast getting lost..which is unfortunate..lastly very few
recall the real maestro of Fusion Music..Ananda Shankar..he was much ahead
of his time and really is the king of Fusion Music..

a brilliant musical exercise. @imtiyazkhan19: coke studio is all about
experimentation; putting together some talented musical brains together to
see what results. I fail to see what disappoints you so much about this
track. also, read up a little about keertan and the bhakti movement; maybe
you'll understand why keertan is so light-hearted - and by extension, how
that contributes an unique sound for this song.

This is absolutely awesome! The song is a beautiful piece of folk inspired
music, composed by the very talented Shantanu Moitra and the immaculate and
flawless rendition of it, shows off the versatility of Kaushiki, the finest
classical vocalist of her generation in India today. The use and treatment
of the Bangla Khol (instead of tabla) is very cleverly done to give a
unique texture to the rhythm.

I totally agree- there should be no parochialism in Music. the language of
music is universal which transcends the narrow and restricted confines of
regionalism. I have not read Bhaskar Bhowmick's comments which no longer
exist but I can guess the contents of the same- that is why Sonar bangla is
languishing behind all the states of India in almost all spheres

Like the song overall..but with a few issues..drum/percussion is mixed way
too low..the khol sound should have been much much more prominent. very
weak keyboard section...and the interlude sax stuff is mediocre..something
more interesting would have been delightful..not that it is not a good
song, but i think it was not upto the standards set by others so far
