Milahi1935 on Thursday, May 12, 2011 Suman is better than perfect. Rafi was taking his voice up at the end but
for some reason the song was cut short. The unique pleasure in listening to
Rafi is the way he takes his voice up up and away to the seventh heaven.
Indian music lacked this display of high notes before Rafi came to sing.
All of saigol, punkaj Malik, etc. Is is in low and medium range. I wish the
composer had let Rafi take his voice further up up and away and not cut it
short.
Bharat Gul on Monday, January 24, 2011 Absolutely precious, SK in particular. In such songs she proves fully
equal to Lataji in the control of complex notes as well as in the sweetness
of voice. MR is always superb too, of course, but my ears become more
riveted by a great female voice when juxtaposed to a great male one, for I
tend to use Lataji as the female yardstick and KLS as the male yardstick.
For me, even the finest male voices can't come up to the KLS standard.
Thanks, ajayuv.
Milahi1935 on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 Suman is a better singer than Lata. Listen to this song over and over
again. Suman gives more moorkian than Lata, her voice has more vibrations
and is sweeter than Lata's. Suman has a higher range than Lata. Let us not
be biased in favor of Lata. Rafi has a much higher range than Saigol.
Rafi's voice is smoother than Saigol's and both gave a lot of Moorkian.
Hence, better singers will appear and let us not have a fixed mind.
