sanamo86 on Saturday, January 12, 2013 if it is his 1st attempt at singing O re Piya, why did he make the effort
of singing in a recording studio, use a HD video cam & not actually
rehearse the song, so that the vocals & pronouciations are correct. Rahat's
O re Piya might have taken several takes, Iv'e heared him singing 1 meter
from me & he sounded bloodly brilliant, note & pronounciation perfect. My
point is the singer is not bad, its just he hasnt got the ability to sing
indian classical, so he shouldnt have attempted this song
DeathVader on Monday, October 22, 2012 He wasn't singing like the Rahat, he is putting a bad image of our Indian
classical music, his pronunciation wasn't good, he mixed a western song
with the song. Stop this immaturity. He sang well, he blended Adele's song
greatly and above all it was worth hearing. You know who is setting up a
bad image here? YOU all. A new artist sings and you suddenly compare him to
a veteran Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sahab, learn to appreciate if you can't give
enough reasons for anyone else to not like it.
Anirban Ghosh on Thursday, August 30, 2012 Could you please clarify what do you mean by pronunciation mistakes here.
"If one sings an English song in an Indian accent, would that be accepted?
" What is the issue of acceptance? The english is not in Indian accent as
far as your statement. Quite a lot tounge rolling is involved in the
singing. "It spoils the mood, spoils the song, spoils everything:(" It may
spoil your mood but made 13,765 happy. The problem is that some of us do
not accept fusion in a whole hearted way.
Akshay Kumar on Saturday, October 03, 2015 All those smarta**es here complaining about South indian accents while
singing Hindi were not able to figure out his accent while singing English
was also nowhere near to the Queen's english as sung by Adele...They
couldn't notice as his (Rohan's) accent was comparatively much better than
their own lalu yadav style english...
So if you yourself cant speak a foreign language without an accent, then
dont expect South Indians to speak Hindi without an accent.
scahuja on Saturday, January 12, 2013 Compared to the original, pronunciation was slightly off, but overall, very
impressed. This is NOT an easy song to sing. Agreed that original artists
are always going to be hard to beat, but the mixture of east meets west is
amazing. In evaluating through watching multiple videos here, I will also
point out that Shankar is also an amazing artist. I don't know about you
guys, but I'm a subscriber! :-) Keep up the great work
