It is one of the most soulful ghazal, pleading from the bottom of the
heart. "Come back, do come back. Come, to leave me alone once again. But
come back".

What fine lines from poet Ahmed Faraz. I am translating for the benefits of
millions of lovers of this ghazal.

Even if there is anguish, come,
Do come to sadden my heart
Do come, to depart once again, leaving me alone.

There are no contacts (between us) like earlier times,
still, at times,
Do come, just to comply with the ways and customs of the world.

To whom all, should I tell the reason for our parting
If you are upset with me,
Do come, for the sake of the world.

Till now, the pleasant-believing heart is having lots of hope,
Do come, to put off these fading flickers.

Since an age, I am deprived of the pleasure of crying,
Oh, the-delight-of-my-life!
Do come, to make me cry

Have some regard for my love’s pride,
Do come, some day, you too, to cajole me.

Agreed, it is love to hide the feelings of love,
Do come, someday to assert your love.

As you know lots of excuses for not coming,
Like that,
Do come, stealthily some day, never to return.

Even if there is anguish, come,
Do come to sadden my heart
Do come, to depart once again, leaving me alone.

'Ranjish hi sahi dil hi dukhane ke liye aa, akhir se mujhe chhor ke jane ke
liye aa, .. Ab tak dile khush faham ko hain tujhse
ummeedein, ye akhri shammayein bhi bujhane ke liye aa', wah kya kalaam ke
andaaz! ...aise romance ke andaz western world poetry literature ya kisi
lyrics mein kahaan milenge!
Tarashne ki misal to dekhiye.ahmad faraz sahab ke kalaam, nishane imtiaz
khan sahab ki awaz aur classical raag par based gayaki, dil ko, saari hadon
ko par kar us pak allah raham ke darbar ko pahunchati hain (lifts the soul
far above the cliché crossing all heights and boundaries to knock at the
door of the all merciful allah's darbar!!
May be that the date and venue of this live concert clip uploaded, was
better to have also been mentioned, but many thanks for uploading.

Khan Sahib is a legend, he epitomises classic Ghazal singing, he will be
remembered for posterity as the greatest ghazal singer, words come to live,
the spirit of the letters of ghazals solidify with his stunning
performance. How beautifully he vocalises the lyrics which summarise the
final hurt Aa phir sey mujhe choor key jaane ke liya aa Please come back to
leave me again Too mujh sey kafha hey to zanmaney key liya aa If you are
angry with me just come for the sake of the world

Ek umar say houn lizzat e girya say bhee mahroom - From a long time I have
lost even pleasure and flavour of tears Aa rahat jaan mujh ku rulanay kee
liya aa - Oh comfort of my soul come at least to make me cry Ab tak
dil-e-khush_faham ko tujh se hain ummeedain - My ever optimistic heart
still endure some hope of show of love from you ye aakhari shammain bhi
bujhaane ke liye aa - Come to extinguish even these last flickering candles
of expectation
